The use of any VPN should cut your speed considerably, so the speed tests should show a discrepancy, with the VPN-active speed notably slower than the VPN-inactive speed. Q: I tried all of the above, and the connection test on the PS4 is still reporting a slower than normal speed. A: The DNS server that your ISP is providing you with may be slowing you down. (This was the case for me with Comcast).

Aug 23, 2007 · Comcast has upgraded their network since then, so I should be getting blazing speeds! Besides, it was only 10 minutes ago that I was getting 4x the download speed and over 25x the upload speed! I waited another 20 minutes and tried the speed test again. This time the results came back normal (same speed as the first test).
  • Spellbreak clash disabledJan 27, 2014 · Quick Fix for Slow AT&T Uverse Internet Speeds I often suffer and complain (rarely in silence) about the slow internet speeds and poor internet access provided by AT&T’s Uverse service. The best fix would be to not use AT&T for any service, but that is sadly not an option at the current time.

Signed up to Plusnet and got going a couple of weeks ago. I've noticed that my download speed is 10 Mbps (BT Wholesale) or 24 Mbps (Speedtest) but they both agree that upload speed is slow at 0.0Mbps and 0.26 Mbps respectively. How can I have good download and bad upload? Surely the wiring is OK to be able to get a decent download ! Oct 05, 2016 · Anyway, i've been wondering for a while now why are my download/upload speeds so slow? This happens to me both wired and wireless, in fact my laptop is wired 99% of the time. This doesn't happen with my 5 year old ASUS N53Jq, downloading the same 2gb file with the same connection the G751JY does around 1Mbps/1.5Mbps and the old one does around ... So their desktop (c2d e6300 @2.8GHz, asus p5q pro, 4gb ddr2 800, windows 7 64 bit) is having trouble with internet. When I browse the internet there are periods of extreme slowness followed by the speeds that they normally get with comcast (30mbps down according to speedtest).

Feb 20, 2014 · I recently switched from ATT UVERSE DSL When I downloaded anything I always got 1.8 or 1.9 speed. Speedtest.net always said 10 down and 2 up Now with Comcast Speedtest.Net says 24 down. Whenever I download ANYTHING I am only getting 1.9 or 2.0 download speeds. This seems way too low for me. I have tried every possible combo. Aug 15, 2018 · Add to this that upload channels are usually narrower than download channels (roughly six Mhz for down and three Mhz for up), and you’re looking at even lower relative speeds, which is why a four-to-one channel ratio doesn’t usually get you a four-to-one speed ratio. A twenty Mbps download speed will likely have less than 5 Mbps for upload.

Dec 17, 2019 · At the moment, Xfinity’s network is using the DOCSIS 3.1 standard that supports 10 Gbit/s downstream and 2 Gbit/s upstream. Since early 2017, Comcast had plans to deploy symmetrical broadband speeds by 2019 and it requires upgrading the current DOCSIS 3.1 with full duplex technology so that we achieve equal upstream and downstream throughput. My hardwired connections test out at around 180 mbps with Comcast, and my wireless connections (latest speed test done just two feet from the gateway) test out at about 80 mbps. My smart TV and desktop computer are hardwired to the gateway using ethernet cables, but my tablets, phone, etc. are all wireless.
